The Beaches of Spain

Spain is surrounded by seas from all sides and is adjoined to France in its northern end. To the south, crossing the Mediterranean Sea lies Algeria and to the West it shares its boundary with Portugal. Overall the most prominent feature of Spain is its surrounding beaches most famous for its tropical climate and warm waters pleasuring the tourists for more than 300days a year. The beaches stretch for more than 4000 kilometers in perimeter around Spain and are a major tourist draws for millions of people throughout the year. Average temperatures range from 18-30° Centigrade.

To the north of the Mediterranean Sea the shoreline features some spectacular beaches and golden sands that emit the radiance of the bright shining sun. To the south one can find some of the most popular resorts in the area which are special for their own type of sand features: The Costa Daurada for Golden sand, The Costa del Azahar for Orange Blossom, Costa Blanca for White sand and Costa Calida for Warm sand. Here  Marbella is one of the most prominent holiday resorts catering to the rich and eminent celebrities, situated in the Malaga Coast.

The Mediterranean and the Atlantic coast are conjoined by the famous Strait of Gibraltar where one can afford the view of the African Coast on a clear dry day. The entire north eastern corner of Spain is washed by the Atlantic creating the Galician coast. The Galician coast is dotted by deeply cut shores and small beaches and inlets.

To the Northern coast of Spain lies the Bay of Biscay which affords a gallant and impressive view of the shorelines with their natural scenic beauty. Cities like Gijion, Santander and Donostia-San Sebastian have set-up shops over here to cater to the tourist looking for a great climate, a lush green environment and some fresh air.
